Although the mind is bias/coloured by numerous subliminal impressions, individual awareness can serve its higher purpose as a vehicle for liberation
Yoga is a process of transformation that increases inner awareness.
Distracting/negative thoughts/impressions often arise in the background when meditating. However, with patience you can find your meditation moving more towards positive/peaceful impressions. The more you meditate, the more you time you can be in this positive space.
Ultimately, the mind has but one prime function: to serve another entity; your True Inner Self.
