Yoga Sutra 4.2

jāti-antara-pariṇāmaḥ prakṛti-āpūrāt

Transformation into another situation happens through the flow of nature

“Nature” represents change; the world is in a constant state of flow.  The flow of life evolves and does not happen by chance; they follow a process of gradual transformation resulting from certain specific adjustments.  But until the conditions are ripe/fulfilled, transformation cannot happen.  This is true for both the “internal” and “external” worlds.

Most in-depth transformations are slow and follow specific rules. You progress by letting go of anything not serving you/any blockages, and when the conditions are ripe, transformation can occur.
