Due to our attachment [to life] it is as if these deep impressions have no beginning
Attachment to the Self/how you identify yourself, to your body, creates an innate instinct that has deep roots, usually unconscious. The ‘will to live’ is an expression of a primordial desire, which is an emotional charge causing impressions to colour your awareness. Thus, self-preservation is an instinct that is with you before your birth, and hence it is said to have no beginning.
