Yoga Sutra 3.42

Kāyā-kāśayoḥ saṃbandha-saṃyamāt-laghu-tūla-samāpatteh-ca-ākāśa-gamanam

The skill of moving through space comes from samyama on the relationship between body and space, coupled with meditation on lightness

Here Patañjali offers a two-fold insight: first, taking into account the subtle relationship between body and space; then in merging your identity with something that is very light, like cotton. You can sometimes see this when you observe highly proficient ice skating; they seem to defy gravity when they are “in the zone” as they move with extraordinary fluidity because of the profound relationship they have developed with body and space.
