Yoga sutra 2.33
vitarka-bādhane pratipakṣa-bhāvanam
In the distress that stems from doubt, let us cultivate an alternative mental attitude.
When distress makes you tighten up, try to find an alternative perspective. It is not unusual for deviant thoughts to obscure the path on the journey. Understanding that these thoughts do not belong to you and not believing in them helps shift your view point. Repetition of this practice and observance of the yama-s and niyama-s will help tame your mind, cultivating a positive mental attitude.
