Yoga sutra 2.11
dhyāna-heyāḥ tad-vṛttayaḥ
When they arise, mental afflictions must be eliminated through deep reflection
When afflictions arise (whether dormant or feeble or alternating or active; sutra 2.04 refers) knowing how to handle them improves your wellbeing. Taking time for sound meditative reflection on the causes and consequences of the affliction enables you to put space between the thought and the action, so carve out time in your day to be alone and reflect.
