Yoga sutra 1.51


tasyāpi nirodhe sarva-nirodhān-nirbījaḥ samādhiḥ


Even cultivated wisdom will dissolve in the highest state of mediation


The end Patanjali talks of here is the highest form of mastery where all mental activity is suspended.


Once you have dropped all the negative aspects to your conditioning, then even your good habits need to be dropped until you are like an empty vessel. This is the highest summit of yoga. It is beyond words. However, trying to put it in words is also irrelevant as the only things that matters how you get there.
