tat-pratiṣedha-artham-eka-tattva-abhyāsaḥ
To avoid mental agitation, we must commit to the practice of a single principle
Patanjali’s message here is very important: you must remain focused and avoid distraction.
The symptoms of a distracted mind can be removed by meditating on one principle: the systematic repetition of AUM (ॐ), the universal sound. However, one practice cannot suit everyone so various methods are advanced in the following sutras, and you, by actual experience, will find out that which helps you most.
